Last fall, Pearl, my 3rd grader, came home from school and announced that she wanted to be home schooled.
Hmmmmm…was my response and just let it go as I figured it was just statement/phase.
However, she didn’t let it go. Which led me to go speak with her teacher. Was she unhappy in her classroom?
Her teacher informe
d me that she was thriving – very happy, doing well and everyone wanted to hang out with her.
Okay then.
(And hmmmm…. again.)
I gave it a great deal of thought. Maybe she was calling out to spend more time with me? I do work from home so this is possible and well, she is my baby and when will I ever have the chance again?
The answer was easy…. ( and yeah….that apple on the books to the right, I am proud to say it is now for me!)
Let the homeschooling roller coaster begin! I am excited, really excited and so is Pearl.
I recently stumbled across Ree Drummond ( The Pioneer Woman) site on home schooling and chuckled at her comment on why she homeschools…
“Many folks support our decision to homeschool. Others think we’re crazy. I happen to agree with both camps.”
Thinking I have the same thoughts.
Does anyone have any sites or words of wisdom for me or Pearl?
