that the summer has come to an end.
( Merrin started school on Monday ( here is her Power Breakfast) and Pearl is gearing up for some homeschooling!)
In May, I am always eager to begin the summer. I create my summer bucket list, plan on sleeping in, eating a lot and well, just playing with lots of everyday fun adventurous spontaneity! However, when August rolls around, I begin to get kinda cranky. I miss the structure the school year brings on – breakfast at 7, after school activities, dinner by 6 and bed by 8.
Don’t get me wrong, we all had a lovely summer and here are some of our highlights!
- hanging at the beach
- hiking, especially to the waterfall
- watching the sunset and the stars come out at the Mauna Kea observatory
- going to lots of movies
- making enough money at a garage sale to buy a Wii
- staying up late
- sleeping in late
- eating a lot of ice cream
- meeting Todd & Laura with Unplugged Parenting
I realized we didn’t do everything on our summer lists but we did a pretty good job at doing most of it …. plus some.
All in all it was a great summer. But yes, I am glad it is over!
What about you? Are you happy it’s over? What were some of your highlights?
Be well,

no! I’m so so sad. I hate it when summer ends.
I think because it is summer pretty much year round in Hawaii, its easy to wish the summer school break away!
